As a DIY enthusiast with a passion for sustainability (and, let's face it - I do love our spirits!) I've accumulated quite a collection of empty gin bottles over the years. Rather than discarding them, I decided to channel my creativity and transform these bottles into practical and beautiful home items. From oil and vinegar kits to unique lamps, my once-empty spirits bottles now serve exciting new purposes!
AND NOW YOU CAN DO IT TOO, WITH OUR PURPOSE-MADE OIL AND VINEGAR BOTTLE RECYCLING KITS!
Oil and Vinegar Kits - now on our website:
One of my most satisfying projects was converting some Rhubarb Old Tom bottles into oil and vinegar dispensers. After thoroughly cleaning the bottles, I filled one with high-quality extra virgin olive oil and another with rich balsamic vinegar. They now sit on my kitchen counter, adding a touch of sophistication. Statistically, around 45% of people enjoy showing off their cooking skills during gatherings. With these eye-catching bottles, you're sure to impress.
Not long after my prototype at home, I developed these special kits, made to match all the stoneware bottle variations: whether it's a light off-white one, or the earthier creamy bottle - these look great. You could also enjoy these kits with glass bottles too. Ensure you check the spout fits though.
It's really easy - all you need to do is remove your spirits label(s) by soaking and scraping off, thoroughly clean and dry, then pop the stickers and pourers on. The stickers are designed to be water resistant, though I would only recommend wiping any spills to extend their lifespan.
rechargeable Twinkle bottle lights - now online!
Available in Warm white, White and Multi Colour!
Enjoy a 'peedie' sparkle, with our new bottle lights. These are really smart - they don't require batteries like traditional small lighting features, and contain a 'cork' at the top, giving a nice clean finish - no cables raffling about outwith the bottle. The cork hides a USB charger, which only needs around 20 minutes of charging before use for several hours throughout the week.
It's a really nice way to brighten up your home in this dull weather!
Create decanters and more.
Our empty spirits bottles can also be transformed into elegant decanters. Whether you choose to keep the labels on them or remove the stickers for a more simple and sophisticated decanter is up to you - as is what you put inside!
After washing my gin bottles, I fill them with water for guests. This not only elevates my bar tables aesthetic but also adds a personal touch to dinners at my house!
Creative Soap Pumps
Another fun project was transforming an old gin bottle into a stylish soap pump. I found a soap dispenser pump online that fit perfectly into the top of the bottle. After filling it with a fragrant liquid soap, I now have a unique, eco-friendly soap dispenser adding character to my bathroom.
Lovely mini Vases
Don't overlook the potential of repurposing your bottles into stunning vases. I often use my empty gin bottles to display some fresh flowers. A simple bouquet of wildflowers looks gorgeous in a clear bottle, while bold floral arrangements inject life into any room.
Plus, this budget-friendly decorating solution allows for seasonal fun like this - without breaking the bank!
